When Big Lights Inspire You

While nations gather to compete in winter sport for a spot on the coveted podium, Tiger Woods did some podium owning of his own this weekend. Saturday, he came out of the woodwork to address the world and tell us everything we already know. He's returning to golf and he's sorry he got caught. No further questions.

On the subject of exploring and exercising options, the NBA's Tracy McGrady, threw his old team, the Houston Rockets, the deuces and headed to New York, the concrete jungle where dreams are made of--this just before the trading deadline, which is basically like breaking up with your fiance(e) and getting with someone new before your originally scheduled wedding day. Nobody loves it, but it's legal.

But back to the aforementioned Olympics we go. U.S. skier Lindsey Vonn skied the shin out of her race to win gold in Downhill. Apolo Anton won bronze in Mens 1000m speed skating to become the most decorated U.S. winter athlete ever--seven medals, with a chance at two more. And last, but not least, USA took out Canada in the preliminary hockey game Sunday night. Still a chance at gold, for both teams, but the setback makes the proposal a little more elusive for the home team. Sigh.
