The Texas Rangers let a good one get away Thursday night, allowing the St. Louis Cardinals to win game 6, bringing the MLB World Series down to the wire for game 7, where the Cardinals became champions. You never know what you have until it's gone, and even worse, they put a ring on it.

NBA players and owners are hoping not to make their season a goner, and as talks progressed this week, there is still hope of a full 82-game season. Rejoice. Eighty-two more occasions to compete for a man's attention.
